Lower School Clinics for kindergarten-5th grade beginners introduce your child to the game of squash in a safe, state-of-the-art space under the instruction of EA Squash Director Demer Holleran. Students will learn the fundamentals of the game while having fun!
Lower School Clinics are perfect for kindergarten-5th grade beginners who would like to learn the game of squash.
All Squash Club events are held at EA’s state-of-the-art Madeira Squash Pavilion in the Dixon Athletic Center, featuring 10 glass-walled courts and a spectator pavilion.
Lower School Clinics and Future Stars are directed by Demer Holleran. Talent Squad and EA-cellence Academy are directed by Lyall Paterson.
Known as one of the most dominant players in U.S. squash history, Demer Holleran has won 34 national championships, including three intercollegiate national championships while a student at Princeton University. During her collegiate career, she was a multi-sport athlete and earned 10 varsity letters in squash, lacrosse, and field hockey. After college, Demer played professionally and represented the U.S. in five World Team Championships and two Pan American games. During nine years coaching for the University of Pennsylvania, her women’s squash teams consistently ranked among the top three women’s intercollegiate teams nationally, and the 2000 team earned a national championship. She also coached the U.S. Women’s National Team, which placed 8th at World Championships, the team’s best finish to date. She was named USOC Coach of the Year in 2000 and has been inducted into the Women’s College Squash Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, and the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame.
Lyall Paterson is one of the most successful junior coaches in the United States. Lyall has coached 7 Junior National #1’s since 2011, as well as US Junior National Teams. As a player, Lyall is a 6x National Champion, former finalist in the British Inter-Collegiate Championships, and has represented Scotland in World and European Championships at junior and senior levels for over a decade.
